    • Let me join the group. Received a check for $3150 for an item I was selling for $975 on Craigs List. Rest of money was to be used to pay for shipping and run-around money. (I was suppose to send money for shipping via “MoneyGram” to Tiffany Lowery @ 225 Cherry Street, Charlotte, NC. 28204). Check was written on account from The Travel Chronicle, Carbondale, CO (a valid company according to the web), Bank name is Alpine Bank, Basalt, Basalt, CO (also a valid bank according to web), check came in envelope (priority overnight) from a business called DESMA USA Inc., Hebron, KY (also a valid company) with a individual’s name: Mike McNamee, phone #210-704-7153 (a phone number registered in San Antonio, TX. Not the smartest scammer I’ve ever seen.

      • I had a similar encounter only the person who emailed me was “Kayla Cecil” kaylavg5@gmail.com The phone number is the same as the one you were given, Marty. The company on the check was different, though. In my case it was Somero Enterprises Inc. out of Boston, MA and the bank was RBS Citizens NA in Medford, MA. The name on the envelope return address is George P Setas and the name on the check, while not legible, looks nothing like George or Kayla. Hmmmmmm…

“I really appreciate the prompt respond to my Email.I have been contracted to fix up some HP laptops but at the moment i am in McHenry IL attending to some other jobs. In view of this we are looking to offer you this job and we want you to handle the fixing of the laptops on agreed terms.

    4. AVG Virus Software (Free Lifetime Updates)

  14. Got email trying for me to mail my product listed on CL to them.

The person didn’t give an address to ship anything to, but request my location and details.

So, if people have shipped to this person, please list the address(es) the scammer is picking up from. This helps the law enforcement nab the indivual. If the person uses local drop locations in their area, it would be easy to nab them sooner.

Also extremely illiterate. Who is this person and why hadn’t something been done?! Local police are involved, here. Whoever it is has my address and I’m not about to have that in the back of my head!
